Chilufya Lombe, a Mechanical Engineer and Director at both Solid Green Consulting and Solid Insight, working at the intersection of building design, operational performance, and the E in ESG. Across his career, Chilufya led the optimisation of more than 120 green buildings across Africa, specialising in energy modelling, building performance, and whole-building lifecycle sustainability. His career spans the full building lifecycle - from shaping design decisions in the early stages to ensuring those intentions translate into real, measurable performance in operation. This dual perspective allowed him to guide clients through their entire optimisation journey: establishing baselines, deploying smart metering and analytics, identifying inefficiencies, and driving interventions that deliver verifiable, real-world results. Through Solid Green and Solid Insight Chilufya supported clients across the continent in improving energy efficiency, reducing operational carbon, enhancing resilience, and embedding data-driven environmental performance into their ESG strategies. His work also extends to contributing to national and regional energy regulations, helping shape the frameworks that will guide Africa’s transition to a more sustainable and energy-secure future.
